This page refers to the 2008 and 2009 mainstage runs of improvised plays in the style of William Shakespeare. For the 2013 mainstage run which had a more free-form format, and included scripted runs of Much Ado About Nothing and Macbeth, see Fakespeare.

Improvised Shakespeare was a mainstage show at The Hideout Theatre of improvised plays in the style of William Shakespeare.

History

The first run of Improvised Shakespeare began with a series of open rehearsals. Any improvisor could attend the initial rehearsals on Sundays in October 2007. At the end of the month, the cast was announced, and those performers rehearsed for the following two months.

The second run had an "initial informational meeting/rehearsal" on 4/1/09 before the cast was decided on.

The 6/6/09 show featured an all-male cast.

The 6/13/09 show featured an all-female cast.
