Katie Dahm is an improvisor and native Austinite. She brings a background in theatre and dance to the stage and has been performing improv since 2007.

History

Katie got her first taste of improv in high school when a lovely Austin improviser named Les McGehee came to her junior year theater class and taught a group of awkward teenagers ComedySportz games (Dana Yanoshak was one of those teenagers, too). While attending college in Ohio, Katie started performing as member of Denison University’s short form improv troupe, Burpee's Seedy Theatrical Company. They played shows around campus and wore bowling shirts embroidered with special names given to each member when they’re inducted. It was incredibly silly, and she loved it. Returning to Austin after graduating with a theatre degree in 2010, she got her first exposure to long form narrative improv, and it blew her mind. That year, she took classes at Merlin Works, got invited by Kyle Traughber and Quinn Buckner to join a little troupe called Quayle, played in a couple of Gnap! house troupes, and performed in her first mainstage show at The Hideout before scooting up to Philly for a 6 month stint. Katie has since had the honor of playing in a number of shows at The Hideout Theatre and recently The Institution Theater and can’t wait for more. She currently plays in the Hideout's monthly show Control Issues (formerly Pick Your Own Path) and will be performing in the upcoming mainstage show Wanderlust. Her craziest improv experience to date was playing as a core member of The 45-Hour Improv Marathon in 2014.
