Summary

Press Blurb

Their press blurb, taken from a 2010 application to perform at The Hideout Theatre:

Pretty Jack Jaybird, featuring Jay Byrd, Patrick Knisely and Tej Ludher, performs what they like to call a MAMIM.

A music and movement infused montage.

It's an all out organic journey to absurdity with singing and dancing.

"What's Your Deal?"

Their answer to the "What's Your Deal?" question on a 2010 application to perform at The Hideout Theatre:

Pretty Jack Jaybird performs what they call a "Music and Movement Infused Montage."

Using organic changes between scenes with improvised singing, rhythms and movement, Pretty Jack Jaybird digs into the absurd, while singing and dancing around it, in a grounded manner.

They perform an alternative to the traditional improv show, as they integrate improvised music and movement without the trappings of normal improvised musicals or dances (that might have a narrative thread or completely lack any scenework).

Pretty Jack Jaybird is the product of three individuals who met in an improv class at The New Movement Theater in Austin TX.

They performed a show together at The Hideout Theater in Austin, TX representing The New Movement that was wildly succesful.

After this show, they decided continue performing together to pursue their unique style.

Collectively they have studied improv all over Austin (The Hideout Theater, The New Movement Theater, ColdTowne Theater and Merlin-Works).
