Summary

Press Blurb

Their press blurb, taken from a 2011 application to perform at The Hideout Theatre:

Best friends are exclusive, and clubs are even more exclusive. Best Friends Club of Austin will include you in their exclusivity. Engaging, emotional, and physical, the Best Friends Club of Austin brings the heat to the stage.

"What's Your Deal?"

Their answer to the "What's Your Deal?" question on a 2011 application to perform at The Hideout Theatre:

At the most basic, we do mono scenes with pop outs. We weave physicality, surreal organic pop-outs and big emotional responses into the shows. If you've seen The Glamping Trip and Billy Icon, we try to go from one to the other and back again.

History

Here is Brett Tribe's explanation of the name's origin:

'Best Friends Club of Austin' started as 'Best Friends Club'. The name probably came to me while I was in the car or something. I walked up to Joshua Phillips one afternoon outside of Coldtowne and said "I want to be in a 2 person troupe with you and call it 'Best Friends Club'." Later I added 'of Austin' because it seems funny to me that there's a worldwide network of best friend clubs which would only have 2 people in them for each city.
