Inspired by a sound, The Honeypot creates a world both dizzily abstract and unabashedly real. Members John Ratliff, Jayme Ramsay, Joshua Philips, Lisa Jackson, Josh Gill and Emily Breedlove lead the audience into alternating realms of pure atmosphere and rich characterization--a sweetly satisfying journey that will coat your mind with deliciousness.
"What's Your Deal?"
Their answer to the "What's Your Deal?" question on a 2012 application to perform at The Hideout Theatre:
Inspired by Todd Stashwick's Beast and Mayfly shows, The Honeypot takes a suggestion of a sound from the audience and performs a thematically connected piece that uses physical and tonal input within scenes as well as to discover organic transformations. We also like to use the space, the environmental sounds and the audience to enrich our show.
