The Spectacle is a performance slot at The Hideout Theatre.
Summary
The Spectacle happens every Friday at 10pm at The Hideout. It is a double bill with an opening act and then Parallelogramophonograph. Each act performs for 35-40 minutes.
The acts are scheduled by Roy Janik, who puts out a call for applications every two months.
History
The Spectacle began in April 2010 as a replacement for The Double Barrel.
Its early performances included a five-minute interstitial act between the first and second acts, and included an artist in attendance, whose job it was to watch the show and create some piece of art inspired by it, that would then be posted on the Hideout's blog.
