Erica Lies is an improv and sketch performer.

History

Erica Lies is a writer, improviser, and teacher in Austin. She’s been writing and performing comedy for over a decade, having studied improv at Magnet Theater, The Institution Theater, and ColdTowne Theater. Erica performs with the groups snapshot, Miller & Lies, and ColdTowne’s TourCo, and she can be seen in ColdTowne’ flagship show, Stool Pigeon, every Sunday at 8:30. She has an extensive performance background with a BFA from West Virginia University and an MA from The University of Texas at Austin, both in theater. As a writer, she is a three-time Second Rounder at the Austin Film Festival with her co-written TV pilots, and her humor writing has run in McSweeney’s, National Lampoon, Splitsider Humor Section, and the Huffington Post. Last year, Menenists — her two-woman sketch show with Katie Stone — had a sold out run that pissed off dudes as far away as Australia. She is also a longtime story producer for Mortified Austin.
