'''Mirage Machine''' is an improv troupe that specialized in fast-paced, yet grounded work. Their work borders on the surreal, creating grounded work within completely unreal situations.
Starting from a dream, '''Mirage Machine'''e weaves a tapestry of slapstick heartbreak and serious absurdity.  Our format is freedom and our method purely accident.

About the MACHINE

They begin by getting a suggestion from the audience of an image from a dream someone has actually had, and from there do a montage in which formats will mysteriously emerge and dissipate. Although they don't set out for narrative sometimes one arises; what they're aiming for is more like thematic unity and subliminal throughline.

"What's Your Deal?"

Their answer to the "What's Your Deal?" question on a 2015 application to perform at The Hideout Theatre:

We do a montage of scene work, but a little bit more surreal.
