Ellen began taking improv classes at the Hideout Theatre in November of 2010. She continued through level six at the Hideout, and also participated in Levels 1 and 2 at MerlinWorks. She performed in Maestro, FancyPants, and a few Free Fringe performances. In April of 2012, she was cast by Kevin Miller in the troupe Kosher Bacon at a MerlinWorks mixer. The troupe went on to perform a run of shows at the Salvage Vanguard Theater with their format "Underwaged". Later in 2012, Ellen participated as an adjunct performer and puppet tech for the black light puppet show "Off the Reef" produced by Sara Farr and directed by Dave Buckman.

In December of 2012, she moved to the San Francisco Bay Area, and then married Tom Pizarek in June 2013. Ellen took levels 1 and 2 in San Francisco at Leela Improv. She also participated in two workshops facilitated by EndGames Improv, but found the commute and competition too strenuous to find stage time. In February of 2015, Ellen and Tom moved back to Austin. Ellen has since performed in Maestro and FancyPants in the 46-hour Marathon. She will begin Level 2 at the Institution Theater in August and is taking Jessica Arjet's four week Wonder Women workshop at the Hideout Theatre.

Also, she totally has 'camp jitters' about being back in Austin and the AIC. But in a good way.
