Mitchell Deane is an improv performer.

History

Mitchell, born in the last century, is a native Austinite with a bold Austin accent. He studied Theatre since middle school, going on to receive a degree in Theatre (Acting/Directing), as well as a degree in Communication at Texas A&M Corpus Christi. He started improv while in college with a group called Islander Improv that later became Camp Danger. This drove him to pursue improv theatre related internships, which led him to The Hideout Theatre. In the summer of 2010, he was at nearly every show, working in Box Office to Tech to House Management. Upon returning to school the next semester, he directed a fully improvised commedia dell'arte 50 minute play for his theatre capstone called Commedia!. After graduating, he returned to Austin where he got more involved in the improv scene, performing at The Hideout, Salvage Vanguard, The Institution Theater, and ColdTowne Theater as well as completing all 6 levels of The Hideout Theatre. In 2011, Mitchell went with Parallelogramophonograph to tech for them in the month long Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland. Later, Mitchell was given the honor of a Free Fringe called Drowning in Mitchell Deane, in which various Austin improvisers did different short scenes or games, improvising as if they were Mitchell Deane. These days, Mitchell performs in The Seven Eight Sevens, a troupe centered around characters and places of Austin, and The Flying Theatre Machine, a weekly improv show for kids.
