Buttholes (often written in all caps: BUTTHOLES) is a group consisting of Mia Iseman, Elena Martinez, Hannah Monson, and John Carroll.

Summary

The quartet perform character-driven "butt" shows with a focus on pacing, heightening, and strong character relationships.

History

After being thrown together as inaugural members of Jet City Improv Presents: The Plane Show, they decided to form their own troupe in late 2018. Their debut show was on December 6, 2018, as part of the LMFBO at CSz Seattle. Since then, Buttholes has performed at Buttholes: Live, Jet City Improv, and at The Pocket Theater.

Here is Elena Martinez's explanation of the name's origin:

Buttholes is named Buttholes because the song "Buttholes" popped up on my Pandora "Butthole" station while sitting around thinking up potential troupe names. It's a pretty kick-ass representation of late-90s rap-rock music by Limp Bizkit. And it kind of contains the greatest lyric ever: "IF ONLY WE COULD FLY..."
