Cochise was a mainstage show at The Hideout Theatre based on late-70s cop shows. It was produced and performed by Improv for Evil.
Summary
In each episode, two characters were pre-determined: "Cochise", a renegade cop, and his beleaguered police sergeant. Everyone else played whatever characters were needed on the day. Each performance introduced a villain committing some sort of crime, and showed Cochise gradually close in on and defeat the villain.
The show included over-the-top 70s costumes and many fake moustaches.
History
The name "Cochise" is a reference to a character in the Beastie Boys video "Sabotage", which traffics in the same genre as the improv show.
The show premiered at The 2008 Out of Bounds Comedy Festival, and then ran as The Hideout Theatre's mainstage show in November of that year. After that, it played at the Long Fringe of Frontera Fest in January of 2009, the first improv show to play the festival. Since then, it has played a smattering of other dates, including an appearance at The 40-Hour Improv Marathon.
