Summary

Press Blurb

Their press blurb, taken from a 2013 application to perform at The Hideout Theatre:

Flowers for Algernon is a hybrid organic/Armando improv trio featuring veterans of the Austin improv scene, Patrick Knisely, Lisa Jackson, and Jay Byrd. Taking a cue from the science fiction classic by Daniel Keyes, Flowers for Algernon creates a world from nothing, colorful characters, relationships, story lines that overlap, intertwine and jump from past to future seamlessly, informed by moments of clarity offered by one of the trio in monologue form. And then, when things can't get any better, they begin breaking down; story lines twist in on themselves, relationships fall apart, characters disintegrate, innocence returns to a bare stage...three improvisers bow and exit.

"What's Your Deal?"

Their answer to the "What's Your Deal?" question on a 2013 application to perform at The Hideout Theatre:

Taking a cue from TJ & Dave, Flowers for Algernon arrive onstage as if dropped into the middle of a scene. We loosely base our performances on the science fiction classic from which we took our name, organically building up a world and then breaking it down during the course of a scene, employing elements of the Armando style to help move the performance along.
