Summary

Press Blurb

Their press blurb, taken from a 2013 application to perform at The Hideout Theatre:

Oh oh!

I need to write you one of these!

Here's a place holder:

Symphonic Taint - Improv singing duo Content Love Knowles and David DeMaris shake the story tree and serve up the fruit: layers of rhythm, texture, poetics and straight up lo-brow riffing,

layered together into a sweet, intoxicating confection.

One taste and we think you might be hooked!

(I'm on painkillers right now, I have to have massive oral surgery in between NMASS and the 6/27 show.

I promise to revisit this asap if you book us again.

In fact, I will send you another one so you have it just on general principle.

When i say "send" I probably mean "revise this form".)

"What's Your Deal?"

Their answer to the "What's Your Deal?" question on a 2013 application to perform at The Hideout Theatre:

We play piano jazz/blues/tin pan alley style and make up pithy funny sometimes kinda smart songs.

We fuck with each other on stage, a little bit of banter and challenge, and we engage the shit out of the audience if they're into it.

but you know, we're nice people, not stand up comedians (he's a Mose Allison, I'm a Sarah Vaughan, but only on Tuesdays.

On Thurs, he's more like, um, Thelonius Monk channeling David Bromberg singing about painted ladies, and I'm a low rent Betty Comden attempting to channel Tom Lehrer but sometimes getting Suzanne Sommers or Hank Chinaski or just the guy who has the bucket and wants to wash your windows).

May I talk to you about ghost stockings?

Sounds like a song.

Yep.

That's it in a nutshell. Pull quote that!
