We Invented Dinosaurs was an improv duo.
Summary
Press Blurb
Their press blurb, taken from a 2012 application to perform at The Hideout Theatre:
We Invented Dinosaurs is Matt Derman and Joel Usher. They perform character-driven, relationship-based improv that focuses on building the world organically and then ripping it to hilarious shreds. Matt and Joel play multiple characters that attempt to interact with each other throughout the show in innovative ways.
"What's Your Deal?"
Their answer to the "What's Your Deal?" question on a 2011 application to perform at The Hideout Theatre:
We have a brief Q&A with a volunteer from the audience about some aspect of their life that makes them proud, then use the information generated by this conversation to inform the details of the scenes that follow. Occasionally we will break from scenes about halfway through to do a brief follow-up with the audience volunteer and get more material, but not always (depends on rhythm of show at that point). Typically starts with 1 or 2 slower, character-based scenes and ramps up into high-energy silliness for the scenes at the close of the show.
