Humanz is an improv duo.
Summary
Press Blurb
Their press blurb, taken from a 2013 application to perform at The Hideout Theatre:
In science fiction and fantasy, the viewer typically follows the heroes and villains while many of the peripheral characters simply serve the plot then disappear. As improv duo Humanz, Christopher "Ceej" Allen and Heidi Rogers follow these other-worldy species living their day-to-day (almost human) lives.
Imagine what a Jawa wedding is like in the Star Wars universe, or how an Orc in Lord of the Rings deals with a child's bad report card after a day of grueling work.
"What's Your Deal?"
Their answer to the "What's Your Deal?" question on a 2014 application to perform at The Hideout Theatre:
We do three acts.
Our show is "Improv Therapy."
The first act one of us plays a therapist to the others' patient.
In the second act we switch it up, reversing the roles.
In the third act we play as the two patients who are in a relationship.
Also, we do a kick-ass opening dance number that sublimely takes us into our first scene.
We are not afraid to go dramatic or dark.
We can play grounded or pump up the comedy.
