Summary
The director deliberately steered the show away from the traditional, wackier signifiers of film noir -- the gumshoes, the voiceover, and the heightened language that often serves to poke fun at the genre -- and aimed for a grittier tone that was truer to the actual source material.
After its main run, the show was performed once at The 2011 Improvised Play Festival, and then once more in a one-off mash-up night with False Matters (called "Violet Matters"). Other than those two shows, it hasn't been done since.
