Prior to 2009, Lacy's only experience with improv included watching Whose Line is it Anyway on TV as a kid, and playing a random selection of improv games in a high-school theatre class. In 2009, Shana Merlin guest lectured in one of Lacy's creative advertising classes. Two years later, after completing graduate school, Lacy finally had time to sign up for classes, and completed levels 101-601 at Merlin Works Institute for Improvisation. In her first year of improvising, Lacy also took all of the other classes offered by MerlinWorks, including Improv Singing 101-301 and several "Improv Labs." Lacy has also taken classes at The Hideout Theatre.
Since starting to improvise, Lacy has been cast in mainstage shows at The Hideout Theatre (Strange Worlds and TheatreSports (mainstage run), Coldtowne Theater (Sci-Fi Saturdays), The Institution Theater (Only Three Will Survive) and with Gnap!
