Golden is an improv troupe that performs silent narratives. On stage, the cast improvises silent stories and scenes while developing relationships with each other, using only their facial expressions, emotional noises, body language, and spacework. It originated with the mainstage of the same name.
History
The troupe was a continuation of the April 2015 Hideout student mainstage production.
Format
Golden is a silent narrative show. A single performer is pre-determined by the cast each show to play the protagonist. At the beginning of the show, the protagonist uses a white board and asks the audience for a suggestion of an occupation. Once selected, the suggestion is shared with both cast and audience before the show begins.
Fool's Gold - Golden performs silent scenes and then replays, reinterprets, and reimagines the scenes using dialogue.
