Summary

Press Blurb

Their press blurb, taken from a 2011 application to perform at The Hideout Theatre:

The Dukes delight in finding a new topic / subject for each performance (selected by the internet community via our Facebook profile). We individually research said topic and bring our own discoveries into an improvised comedy show. We'll share our thoughts with you and jump into a whirlwind of academic antics. What happens when the Theory of Relativity, Japanese theater traditions, or the history of Easter Island gets interpreted through five knuckleheads? Find out! What will we be The Dukes of this week?

"What's Your Deal?"

Their answer to the "What's Your Deal?" question on a 2011 application to perform at The Hideout Theatre:

We get a topic from the general public, individually research it on our own time, then discuss it very briefly in front of the audience at the top of the show. We might often use the discussion as meta-humor for our show. For example, if Kyle was too busy playing video games to read about Cleopatra, he might interrupt our scenes with video game characters etc... We indulge in very laid back conversation and often bring insights of the topic into organic conventions (example: a topic about movie bloopers might result in blooper edits in scenes). It's insanely loose and laid-back.

History

The troupe was founded in the fall of 2010 by all the original cast and disbanded after their Out of Bounds performance in 2012.
