The Next Chapter is a mainstage show at The Institution Theater that performs improvised continuations of the works of a published author.

Summary

Each night of the show has a different guest author. The show starts with the author reading anywhere from 500 to 1,000 words of his or her choosing from a published work. The cast listens and at the conclusion of the reading, steps forward to recite different details, themes, or concepts they heard for about a minute. They then begin to improvise where the story left off.
