Buzz Band

From Austin Improv Community Wiki

Buzz Band was a mainstage show at The Institution Theater set in the 1990s music scene.

Summary

The show ran about 80 minutes (with an intermission), with the entire cast playing every night. It was narrative, but didn't necessarily follow a single featured protagonist. The directors opened the show by describing the show's world/era, and took no suggestion.

It ran Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm, from 5/8/15 to 5/23/15.

Press Blurb

From the initial show announcement:

"Enter the world of musicians on the cusp – of stardom, of reaching the next level, of bottoming out, of personal disaster. This improvised narrative journey follows characters as they realize how high the stakes are when they strive for fame -- or infamy -- in the music industry."
